Carbon short fibres are used in injection moulding of components and in friction lining and they are integrated into synthetic materials. In case of synthetic materials a higher strength, improved stiffness, higher electrical conductivity (antistatic), reduced thermal expansion, improved thermal conductivity, enhanced abrasion resistance and a diminished inclination to creep are achieved by adding carbon short fibres. The greatest advantage compared with new carbon fibres is the clearly lower price.
